Lancer announced the release of their new L7AWM today. By the first look the magazine appears to be a step above anything else currently on the market. In part " they have taken the lessons learned from the L5AWM magazine" and created a magazine for the AR-10. Lancer has been making, what we like to call, "cyborg magazines" with great success since the birth of the L5 magazines and the L7 looks even better.

The L7 appears to be constructed mostly from steel at the top of the magazine, which is an improvement from the L5 magazine that stopped at the magazine catch and didn't reach all the up to the feeding ramp. This addition should provide an increase in longevity for the magazine since this is the area that receives the most wear during use. The L7 also features steel on the interior of the magazine and it looks like almost every part of the magazine that will be inserted in the magazine well of your AR-10 will be re-inforcefed with steel, which is great!

Lancer has incorporated the best of both steel magazines and polymer magazines into the L7AWM; you get the reliability and endurance of the steel, and the lightweight of the polymer. We cannot wait to try these out in the field to check craftsmanship on magazines. Knowing Lancer's commitment to precision we won't be disappointed.
